BetterSelf ("we", "us", "our") is an AI-powered conversation practice app that helps users build social confidence through realistic simulated conversations. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the BetterSelf mobile application and related services.

The microphone is used only while a practice is running. Your voice is processed as follows:
We do not store recordings of your voice or the text of your conversations on our servers. We keep only the results: your score, tips and progress.
Authentication only. We receive your email and a unique token. Apple's privacy policy applies.
Database and authentication infrastructure. Your account and progress data is stored securely on Supabase (AWS-hosted).
Powers live voice conversations with some characters, feedback, and the classic practice mode. Data sent via the API is not used to train OpenAI models per OpenAI's API terms.

When you delete your account, all associated personal data is permanently removed within 30 days. Usage records that contain no conversation content (such as practice length and cost) are kept only in anonymized form, with no link to you, for service cost and abuse-prevention statistics.

BetterSelf is intended for users aged 17 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 17. If we discover that a child under 17 has provided us with personal information, we will promptly delete it.
Your data may be processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate. By using BetterSelf, you consent to such transfers. We ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your data in accordance with this policy.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or via email. Continued use of BetterSelf after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
