BetterSelf ("we", "us", "our") is an AI-powered conversation practice app that helps users build social confidence through realistic simulated conversations. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the BetterSelf mobile application and related services.

When you practice a conversation, your voice is processed as follows:
Voice recordings are not permanently stored on our servers. They are processed in real-time and discarded after transcription.
Authentication only. We receive your email and a unique token. Apple's privacy policy applies.
Database and authentication infrastructure. Your account and progress data is stored securely on Supabase (AWS-hosted).
Powers voice transcription (Whisper) and AI conversation responses (GPT). Data sent via API is not used to train OpenAI models per our API agreement.
Text-to-speech synthesis for AI character voices. Text is processed and not stored.
Subscription management and payment processing. Handles Apple App Store transactions. We do not directly process or store payment card information.
When you delete your account, all associated data is permanently removed within 30 days.

BetterSelf is intended for users aged 17 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 17. If we discover that a child under 17 has provided us with personal information, we will promptly delete it.
Your data may be processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate. By using BetterSelf, you consent to such transfers. We ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your data in accordance with this policy.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or via email. Continued use of BetterSelf after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
